The kitchen is the most attractive center of every home. This is where the family cooks, and at times catch fun. If you intend to build a new apartment or you want to restructure your kitchen there are smart and beautiful designs that can be used for your kitchen. Kitchens could be the most expensive and difficult room to restructure in the home. Kitchen designs can go more than just choosing a beautiful finish. The kitchen design layout is more important to achieve a perfect setting for your kitchen. Read on to see some important guidelines for structuring your kitchen designs.

Space Planning

Logistics is one of the most stressful parts of kitchen designing. One would begin to imagine where would everything go? In kitchen restructuring, there can be some challenges with square footage and previous plumbing replacements. Before you start your kitchen designs, you need to measure the available space floor before placing the basic things. You can make use of these guidelines.

This is the entrance to the kitchen. It should be at least 32 inches broad and the doors should not collide with any object in the kitchen. If your kitchen is a small one, make sure the door is hanged to open out not inward. This will help to prevent clearance issues. The path through the kitchen should be as broad as 36inches. The calculation for the walkways should not be above 48 inches for several cooks and 42 inches for a single cook.

Work Distance:

This is also known as the work triangle. It is very important in structuring the kitchen. It is the distance between your refrigerator, sink, and cooking space. The full sum between these three spaces should not be above 26 feet and each side of the triangle should measure up to between 5 to 10 inches. If there are going to be more cooks in the kitchen, i.e for standard kitchens, develop a triangle for each of the cook. Make sure that the triangles don’t intersect each other, they could share one leg though. Try to minimize the traffic on the kitchen walkways.

Dishwasher and Sink:

sinks should be at the side with enough space on both sides. In smaller kitchen designs layout, this can be actualized with a moving kitchen counter haul. If there is a secondary sink in the kitchen, make at least 3 to 4 inches of countertop on one side and at the other side use 18 inches. Make enough space between the dishwasher/sink and any other appliances in the kitchen.

it is recommended by kitchen design experts that a minimum of 158 inches of usable countertops should be installed in a kitchen. 24 inches wide countertop is recommended to be installed close to the sink for easy prep work. Also, consider the plan for an estimate of 15 inches countertop at either side of the refrigerator. Keep good space between the countertops and the burners.

Storage and Accessories:

Though there is no definite arrangement for kitchen storage and accessories, however, note that they are also important parts of the kitchen. Kitchen design experts advised an estimation of 117 feet of drawer frontage and shelf for storage purposes.

If you are worked up and don’t know how to place your kitchen design, take a deep breathe and relax. There are professional kitchen designers that are well trained for this purpose. They can help you manage the space you have to create a beautiful atmosphere in the kitchen. Are you already getting worried about the price of hiring a professional kitchen designer? You don’t need to bother, they are affordable. However, note that your taste can affect the quotes they might give to you.
