Top Ten Lists
Love them or hate them, there's no denying the popularity of Top 10 lists. Here's a few reasons why many folks seem to like them.
The Power of 10. According to research, people are drawn to round numbers, and in particular, the number 10 for rankings.
Easy to digest. We are information swamped...a Top 10 list gives people an easy way to absorb the data, without much thought.
Cocktail Chatter. The information can be fun to share with others.
Great for current events. Subject matter, matters. Top 10 Christmas tree lists in April won't be as popular as those in November and December.
Social Media Sites. Top 10 lists translate well to social media, perhaps that's why we see so many of them posted in any given day.
You can always use Top Ten Lists to your advantage. We are using Google's, recently released, Top 10 list of the most popular costume searches for 2019 in our SOI video email blast this month. It's fun and timely, and will give our recipients plenty of time to think about costumes for themselves or family members. Do you think we entertained, informed, and gave our viewers value?
A word of caution, don't let Top 10 lists become a crutch. Use them wisely and keep in mind the basics to inform, entertain, or offer something of value. Best case scenario - you cover all three of the aforementioned.
We are certain you can think of other timely Top 10 lists to share with your SOI this month.
YouTuber of the Week!
This week YouTube Thursdays features AR YouTuber, Toby Barnett. He does a great job of consistently using videos, both drone and 360 video tours, for his listings. We encourage you to support his efforts and subscribe to his channel at Barnett Associates Team.
Much like Anita Clark 's Facebook Fridays, we encourage you to subscribe to each other's YouTube Channels - and take a minute to "like" or leave a comment. You can also add your own YouTube Channel in the comments below, and ask for subscribers. Be sure to subscribe back though - it's quid pro quo!
Happy YouTube Thursdays.
