Every day in Real Estate consists of a mix of good, bad and ugly. It is what we make from the hand we are dealt that matters...
The sun is rising on another day in the Real Estate world. Last night I must have been smiling a little more than usual. Stopping for a late day Iced tea, a lady asked if I had a good day today. Feeling wiped out from an exausting day, I did, but how did she know?
Every day in Real Estate consists of a mix of good, bad and ugly. It is what we make from the hand we are dealt that matters though.
I started the day with a 830 am closing. Headed off to get a new listing and through out the day, got 4 offers on 4 different listings of mine. Two went under contract right away, one was countered and is being pondered by the seller. The fourth buyer has a home to sell, so lets get that on the market before they place any homes under contract.
So back to Dunkins' for my Iced Tea. The woman is a new agent, she knows me and saw that 2 of my listings changed to pending today. She was paying attention as she had a buyer interested in 1 of them.
We got to talking and she told me how slow it is at her company. She sat with eyes wide open as i told her how busy this fall market has been for me. She had lots of questions but i was thin on time. I had a new listing to put in MLS. Had to write my ads. Update my current sellers on showings and reach out to a couple of potential listings.... all before bed time.
She left by saying, "You sure had a good Real Estate day." I smiled and thanked her. As I drove home I pondered that thought and came up with this blog. My answer to my own question is a good real estate day is a day when things go well. Sales do not happen every day so 2 in a day is a blessing. Listings don't happen every day, but it is a great day when one does. AND... we live for closings, so closing day is always a great day. Some days are less event full. Getting a lead on a new listing can be a great day. Getting a buyer who wants to hire me as their buyer agent is a great day. Getting a thank you from a client can also make it a great day.
Each day is a careful mix of trying to put my current listings under contract. Getting those pending sales to close. Updating clients and attracting new listings for tomorrow, next week and the future.
The lesson and my infamous message is do not hire just anyone to list you home. Do not just hire the biggest company or agent. Take time to hire the BEST agent. The way I do business is to offer some of the best possible personal and professional service. To stand by them through each step of the buying and selling process. Let me show you the right agent CAN make a difference.
