You Know Times Are Tough When . . .

By
Real Estate Agent with Home Smart Realty Group

As we do every Saturday and Sunday, my sister and I held open a home today.  It was our own listing and we usually get quite a few people through so we decided to do it together, which is always nice.  We were surprised when only one individual came through, but that's okay that happens some days.  We picked up our signs outside of the home and made our way down the street to the main intersection where we had three signs set up and . . . they were gone.  I know times are tough, and people are desperate, but this was a shock.  We've had a sign stolen here and there, but to lose three on the same day, talk about devastating.  Is there anyone out there who can explain to me who would do this and why?  Well, it was a tough day, but there's always tomorrow!!

Sorry to hear that.  I've never had that happen to me, and I don't know why anyone would even do that!  Honestly, what are they really going to do with those signs.

Well they must have needed them more than you :) Getting riped off is the worst.  Even though they are just signs... it still burns.

I also own a Newborn Announcement Service (we put a Stork in the yard to announce the new baby), and I put out a small sign with my name and phone number on it.  This way, those passing by won't wake the baby by knocking on the door and asking where the Stork came from.  AND, my signs get stolen from time to time.  The only thing I can figure is they remove my vinyl lettering so they can use the metal signs for themselves.  Nothing esle makes any sense.  Sometimes I think people just have this crazy need to steal something, and a sign fits the bill.

Where was your open house?  Some areas you need a permit to put up signs. If you don't have the proper permit, your signs will go bye-bye!

Then of course there are the folks who snitch them because they make great garage sale signs!

Sorry to hear yours came up missing.

that stinks!  Maybe it will help to think of the good/bad Karma that may be generated from it...

I seen a lot of cases where the "neighborhood committe" people get really corporal and start ripping down all signs/ads.

Carrie & Kathy - I noticed this is your guys 1st blog post, congrats and welcome to the Rain!!
