Electronic Notary Becoming A Reality Soon

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Beckner Mobile Notary

The National Notary Association has an article about the development of electronic notary services. I've been watching this for a while now. I'm not sure if this will work its way into the mortgage industry, but it could be great.

This article is a great read not only for the general population of notary publics, but for those who love to stay on top of the latest technology.

Here's the link to the article: Click here

Hi Dennis - I just got my first call last week to do an e-notarization.  I turned it down because I'm not comfortable with doing them until I get more information.  They did make itt sound relatively easy, but I still want to know what I'm doing first.

Thanks for your post and I'm going to check out that link.

Have a great week!

The mortgage industry will probably be onboard as soon as they can solve the problem of recordable documents. The problem is that you have hundreds of local county jurisdictions with different rules and no single standard.

Terry - When this company called me they said as long as I had a laptop and the ability to get online (WiFi), I could do it; that they'd email me the trust deed, etc. for the wet signatures so it could be recorded.

I've been waiting for e-notarizations to become popular in California and can't believe it hasn't happened yet.  I've just been waiting before investing any money into it right now, but I know it's only a matter of time.

Now I'm wondering, do I really need the expensive equipment (ENJOA) the NNA is offering for approximately $300-$400?  At least that's what the price was when I last checked.  It would be interesting to know.

Maybe there are other notaries on AR who are already doing e-notarizations who could give us suggestions.
