Thanks for sharing a bit more of your careers with us! I knew some of this (the restaurant era) but not prior to that. You've had an intriguing career path that no doubt contributes to your success in your consulting business along with the skills you acquired!

Hi Grant Schneider what an interesting history!  I remember working at Sears in HS and we had a great leader in the mgmt program.  I didn't realize how comprehensive a training program it was.  What a great way for you to learn and grow right out of college.  I bet you love having your own company now!

I was at grand opening of TGI Friday. It was an out door meeting chicks eatery. 63rd street and some east side street stood with cute chicks.....  I just looked up they were many flight attendents live there.  Airlines did not hire grandmas then.

You've had an interesting journey Grant, and I enjoyed reading it. Hey, I remember the Sears in Huntington. I recently read that they were converting it into a movie theater and a gym!

Hi Grant - my "adult" career started in high school in a drug store and transitioned to department store retailing in and after college.  In those days, training led to many career paths and it seems that is true for you as well as those building blocks proved successful as skills were learned and mastered.

Hi Grant! Your consulting career has blossomed and I'm certain that every single experience you had in the past contributed to your success. 

I am a firm believer that we learn so much from those experiences - even the ones in which our 'bosses' left much to be desired. Those guys taught us how NOT to be in our businesses!!

During my years at Rutgers, I got to know the New Brunswick Sears very well :)

The Great Recession is when I changed careers too.  It was a real motivator.  Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi Grant! I always tell my daughters that I expect them to make mistakes, and that I want them to make mistake. It's not easy to watch them do so at times, but I wholeheartedly believe that it will prepare them for an amazing life ahead. Where would we be had it not been for some (or many) of the mistakes we made in the past? 

It certainly sounds like that your mistakes propelled you forward and helped shape the life you get to enjoy today.
