Pumpkin Patch Family Fun at Uesugi Farms
Visiting the pumpkin patch is a fun family tradition during the Harvest Season.
Our family and close friends enjoy visiting a pumpkin patch in Morgan Hill called Uesugi Farms. Uesugi Farms is a second-generation family business, making its mark as one of California’s top producers of peppers, Napa cabbage and other produce.
During the October month it opens a pumpkin patch that attracts nearly 100,000 visitors each year, and is a favorite field trip for students.
The Hay Ride ($6 per person) takes you on a tour of a Gourd Gazebo, Corn Maze and my favorite-Marigoldland-a field filled with 100,000 hand-planted, in-bloom Marigolds. It's one of our favorite photo backdrops at Uesugi Farms.
At Pumpkin Blasters, $5 gets you three mini pumpkins to shoot toward several targets. This year out of 10 people, only one hit a bulls-eye, my eldest child Marlena.
Food for sale includes pumpkin themed treats, kettle corn, tacos, hot dogs and the classic corn on the cob, even Hawaiian Shave Ice.
Best of all, it has a huge variety of pumpkins and other gourds for you to choose from, including Cinderella ones.
