Motivational Monday...Stature Over Size
This weekend we spent time with Larry’s daughter, her husband, and our grandsons. Besides getting to visit with them, we were able to see our youngest grandson at batting practice as well as watch my Houston Astros win the American League Championship title.
Thatcher is 13 and his baseball coaches have said he has a high baseball IQ. We noticed early on his skills when he first threw a football to us. Powerful arm and on target.
Watching the Astros has, I hope, been inspirational for him because of the Series MVP - Jose Altuve who is 5’6”. Thatcher will probably reach 5’7” or 5’8” so seeing what Altuve has achieved shows him that size doesn’t have to be a barrier to seeking and achieving a goal.
Focus, hard work and commitment go a long way in realizing your dreams.
I don't think too much about mechanics. I just like to go up there and swing. It's more than my swing, though. It's my mindset. I always go to home plate with a plan. Jose Altuve
To achieve success wasn't to get into the major leagues or have the best season in the world. The best success is to live your life the way God wants you to.
Jose Altuve
I've been 5-6 since I've been at least 17 or 18. I think somebody made a mistake on the measurements. Jose Altuve
It’s not how big you are...what matters is how BIG you play. Jose Altuve
