Fall Festivities in Central PA!!

One of the great things about living in Central Pennsylvania is that there is never a shortage of activities in and around our communities. Fall is exceptional with the amount of family friendly activities available. Here is a helpful round up of some of the fun parades to enjoy around town in the near future:

 

Ickesburg (Landisburg and Loysville): 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

It forms at Landisburg Fire House, 301 Faculty Ave. It is being sponsored by Ickesburg and Landisburg Lions Clubs, and Loysville Community Club.

Manchester/Mount Wolf: 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

It begins at the intercession of North George Street and Sunset Road (in Manchester), north on North George Street, then Maple Street, ending at Mount Wolf Park in Mount Wolf.

Carlisle: 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 (no rain date).

The parade steps off on East North Street, travels west to Hanover Street, then south on Hanover to Willow Street, east on Willow to where the parade disbands. Info: www.facebook.com/carlisleparksandrec, 717-243-3318.


Elizabethville: 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 (rain date: Oct. 22).

Begins at Upper Dauphin Area High School.

Marysville: 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21.

Parade begins at the Perry Masonic Lodge, 105 Sylvan St., then travels south onto Maple Avenue, across Valley Street to Verbeke Street, right onto Front Street, left onto Lincoln Street going south, right onto Cassell Street, right onto Church Street, ending at Bethany United Methodist Church.

Middletown: 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 (rain date: Oct. 22).

The Kiwanis Club of Middletown's 66th annual Halloween parade officially begins at the intersection of North Race and Conewago streets, goes north on Race Street, then takes a left onto Water Street (heading west), left onto Union Street (heading south), ending right before Mill Street, near Karn's Market.

Camp Hill: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Parade begins on Market Street (in front of Trinity Lutheran Church), goes west to North 24th Street, then up North 24th to Walnut Street, ending at borough hall.
There will be activities and refreshments in the borough building for children after the parade.

Paxtang: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.

A fire alarm will sound when parade is forming, around 6:30 p.m. (no alarm heard -- no parade) and will step off at 7 p.m. from the intersection of 30th and Derry streets, then east on Derry Street, north on Wilhelm Street, west on Montour, south on Paxtang Avenue, right onto Derry Street, ending at the Paxtang Municipal Building, 3423 Derry St.
This 82nd annual parade is sponsored by Paxtang Lions Club.

East Pennsboro Twp.: 
7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.

It will form at East Pennsboro High School, 425 W. Shady Lane, at 6 p.m., down Enola Drive and march to the Township Building.

Mount Holly Springs: 
7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 (no rain date).

Newport: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 (rain date: Oct. 24).

Held by Newport Lions Club, the parade usually starts at Newport Elementary School on Fickes Street, proceeds to Fourth Street, then onto Mulberry, to Second, proceeding across Market Street to the playground.

East Hanover Twp.: 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.

Begins at Grantville Carnival Grounds, 215 Firehouse Road, then moves through town.

Millerstown: 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 (no rain date).

The parade steps off from Greenwood High School. It usually proceeds down Sunbury Street to the square, then takes Market Street to Millerstown Motors, turns right toward Millerstown United Methodist Church, right onto High Street, and turns back onto Sunbury Street to return to the high school.
