The amazing artists at the Ventura County Potters Guild created beautiful handmade bowls specifically for the Bowl of Thanks event. Each one-of-a-kind bowl features unique touches you won't find anywhere else. With the purchase of your bowl, you receive a punch card. This allows you to sample soup prepared by some of our finest local Ventura chefs.
Only 250 bowls have been created for this year's Bowl of Thanks event. Once they've been purchased, that's it. No more for the year. So, if you want to be a part of this unique fundraiser, visit the VCPG offices on Spinnaker right away to reserve your bowl.
Who Benefits from Bowl of Thanks?
Two local charities receive donations from money raised through the Bowl of Thanks event: the Humane Society of Ventura County and the Ojai Valley Family Shelter. The Humane Society in Ojai is Ventura County's very first "no-kill" shelter. They provide food and shelter for neglected animals. None of the animals in their care ever get euthanized. But their care comes at a cost. They rely heavily on donations to continue to operate.
The Ojai Valley Family Shelter provides food and shelter to homeless individuals and families in Ventura County. Even through scheduled power outages (like last week), volunteers band together to make sure people get fed. They even bring a mobile shower facility to those in need in the field. They also rely on donations from the public to keep these services open to those in need. So reserve your one-of-a-kind bowl for the Bowl of Thanks event today.
