How Realtors Can Win by Committing to a Social Media Strategy

There is a multitude of success stories in the modern world that find root in the incredible power of social media. On the flip side of the same coin, there are innumerable people and companies struggling to use social media in a way that will benefit them. So, why do some succeed while others draw any attention at all?

You undoubtedly know the tremendous impact social media can have on your business—otherwise, you probably wouldn’t be reading this article. Spoiler alert: the secret to generating engagement, building leads, and creating new business on these platforms is simple—it takes time and consistency! You don’t have to go viral to see the advantages of social media, so let’s breakdown the strategy of long-term commitment.

Don’t Overthink

Content is often seen as king, but consistency is more important. You don’t need to stress over what to post or when to do so—rather, just approach social media with a genuineness. Post every day and about anything that is happening in your life and business. Your authenticity will help people connect with you in ways that scripted posts won’t.

Be Open

Let people into your life by sharing intimate moments and you are bound to build trusting relationships with them. Share whatever you are comfortable with—the joy your family brings you, the zany antics of your pets, or your day out on the lake. Allowing people to see that you are a grounded person will make you and your business more accessible and appealing.

Take the Mask Off

Social media often receives criticism for presenting unrealistic expectations to the world. Instead of falling into the trap of only showing the sunshine and rainbows in your life, allow people to see the good and the bad. Celebrate when you or a loved one has good news or accomplishes something important, but don’t omit the struggles along the way. This vulnerability is appreciated by people and will help establish real emotional connections!

Knowing your target audience will help you decide which social media platforms to embrace and dedicate time and energy to. Facebook is, of course, the go-to platform for the majority of people, but branching out to Instagram, Snapchat, and others can be effective, particularly if you are targeting a specific audience.

No matter what your platform of choice or strategy is, it’s vital to display consistency and stick-to-itiveness! If you’re open to new ways of growing your business and want to connect to a group of likeminded people to help you reach your goals, please feel free to reach out. We’d love to hear from you and welcome a conversation!

I believe, a realtor should mix the variety of content that appeals to her target audience, regardless of their buying  preferences, to keep them engaged consistently all the time. This way, when they are ready to buy or sell, you are the agent who is on top of their mind and whom they will be more likely to reach out to.
