I am sick and tired of the gas prices going up and up! Everytime I pass a gas station I get infuritated and feel the govenment needs to do something! Chevron and others have major profits and the CEO's keep getting raise after raise at our expense! I just passed a Shell station the other day and it has been totally demolished, the sign on the chain linked fence said "Coming Soon! A larger new station and mini store!" Here is an article about six fixes for high gas prices! I am not so sure it is a fix!!!

Just as I read your title the TV had a toyota commerical about the rising gas prices. I think I must hear that 10 times a day. Not sure what I am more sick of, that or the actual prices.

I think we are all flusterated, we really have no control over this situation, except that we can try to use less gas which will equal less demand.

Have A Great Day

Yes, the Chevron has a stick now that lays outside by the sign with the numbers.  Prices changed on this sign twice today.

Someone has got to come up with a solution to this mess. I have a few but I'm not sure they would be seen as politically correct.

I just went and read the article... it must have been proofed by someone from the Sierra Club...  They danced around it, and only touched anything actually usefull on one of their points.  Getting more refineries into the mix would bring down prices... the last new refinery was built when Jimmy Carter was President.  And refineries run at 95+% capacity... including change-overs for different seasons and blends.

To actually get the price of oil down, open Area 10-02 in Alaska.  It actually ISN'T part of ANWR, but the green advocates have successfully rolled it into the refuge.  Opening the area to production would send a message that we aren't going to take this crap any more.  While that area is being opened up, we also need to open up the outer continental shelf, the straights below the florida Keys (Venezuela and China are currently supporting Cuba's efforts to side drill this area, but groups like the Sierra Club are worried that US companies will cause environmental damage... like the other players are clean freaks).

Explore ways to more economically produce oil from oil shale.  We have a LOT of that stuff.  Enough to run this country for 110 years with no other production.

Start a nuclear building program.  It is nice when people save a little gas, but taking a pile of oil fired power plants off-line would be a bunch more effective.

And keep in mind that State and Federal Governments get more money per gallon that the oil companies.  Taxing them more will only INCREASE the price.  Not a great way to accomplish the goals.

And feel free to lay the blame on the green lobby for killing drilling in Area 10-02 for the last 15 years.  We could be pulling oil out of the area if not for their lobbying.

Jean, all I can ask from watching these prices CONTINUE to go up for no apparent reason other than the speculators in the futures market, is when will it stop?

The rising prices have motivated me to take a look at my weekly driving and try to plan my schedule more efficiently. After topping $4.00 earlier this week I was surprised to see $4.11 and $4.15 posted today. I'm hoping our leadership can come to a solution to bring prices back to a more reasonable level.

Jean.....the price of gas is a crying shame.  The oil companies report profits and their executive's keep getting raises while the price of gas keeps going up.  I keep monitoring my mileage and attempting to be consvative.

Jean, I actually was reading an article yesterday that suggested in 2 years gas will be at $6 a gallon. Not looking pretty.
