Is it the end of a holiday tradition?

All I want for Christmas is...

Each year I tell my husband there is one thing I want for Chrismas - a photo of our daughters in their Halloween costumes. And each year he has taken a photo, framed it, wrapped it and put it under the Christmas tree for me. I have quite a lovely collection.

This year my daughters feel too old to go Trick-or-Treating and aren't sure they will dress up at all. Teenagers making plans can be so unpredictable.

So, is it the end of a Hill Family Tradition?

Halloween Photos for Mom

Since we host a huge Halloween Party in our home every other year, maybe it will skip a year and return next year.

I guess we will find out in a few days.

Do you have any Halloween traditions in your family?

I'd love to hear about them.

I hope you and your loved ones have a safe, spooky and happy Halloween!

Good morning, Dana Hollish Hill I love traditions.... this Halloween, my son Michael's family will be at my home for dinner; change into costumes; and go out with Michael.... I'll give out candy to the kids from my 'hood!!!!  watching their eyes when they see the large bowl of full size candy bars is worth buying them!!

Good morning Dana. I never had any holiday traditions for Halloween but can understand yours. I love the pictures.

That is a really good tradition, things that are personal make the best presents.  I am doing something similar this year for my niece and nephews.  We went on a trip to the Grand Canyon and I gave them each a disposable camera to take pictures of whatever they wanted.  I had the pictures developed and I am going to pick out the best ones and have them made into canvas prints and I will give them to them for Christmas.  Since they won't get me presents, I am going to ask if their present to me would be to allow me to hang their photos on the wall in my home.

Hello Dana - I can't recall any Halloween traditions but it certainly seems as if your husband is up for the challenge once you provide the inspiration.  Lots of great memories.

Maybe. Things do change with our kids. When they have kids you can ask for a photo of your grand kids in Halloween costumes. Start a new tradition. I like to dress my family in matching PJ's and get a family photo. Even my son-in-law is a good sport. My son and husband could probably take it or leave it but, they go along and that makes me happy. My daughter & I love it. I also have a couple photos of my daughter dressed in matching dresses. If I have granddaughters, you bet we'll be doing that too. :) I hope you find another tradition that makes you just as happy!

Hi Dana- I do love your tradition and who knows, maybe they'll dress up just for you!!! We typically give out candy and in the past that has meant on average 150 kids!  Not sure how many we'll have this year since we moved. Enjoy your Halloween.
