I always do. I guess I want to see a photo of the person I will be talking with. I want to see what they say about themselves and read about them. I don't necessarily care what their testimonials say or how many years in business they've been in real estate. I just want to know who I'm dealing with and what they say about themselves since they are the ones talking. It's interesting to read something and see if it's true later (expert negotiator, reliable, professional). Next time, before you present your next offer, take 5 minutes to reach the agent's website.
LaNita,
I do the same thing. I just want to have a visual image of who I'm dealing with.

In today's market with fewer deals out there, you had better learn to be a good negotiator. It's not about being pushy but getting the parties to realize what the outcome may or may not be if they are not willing to negotiate.
I always check the mls to look up the LA stats before submitting an offer. There is a wealth of information there that will help you present the offer in the best light possible.
I always look them up to put a face to the name... But If I was on the selling side I would also ask around about their reputation to see if they are professionals ... and to manage your own expectations on how easy the deal will flow.
Yes always do, in fact I have even checked the license data base here in our state. The reason the agent was acting a little odd - 3 months in the business. LOL
I always do too. I look at their stats to see if I am dealing with a newer agent or someone more experienced.
LaNita--I always do this because I feel that it puts me in the driver's seat/advantage position! I know something about them and it makes the negotiating alot easier for me!
LaNita, I always do that too! That's too funny, I didn't think others did the same thing. Hmmm, I wonder how many looked me up when I'm the listing agent and they want to present an offer?
