Pick Up the Remainder of the Fall Leaves, Or The Last of Them

With the large snowstorm early, this weekend the last of the remaining snow should be melted.  It may be the ideal time to pick up those leaves if you haven't already, or to address the ones that have fallen off in the interim.   Usually the end of daylight savings time ushers in cold weather each day, with snow storms more and more likely.  This is usually a minor annoyance since by now most of the trees should be done with their leaves falling off.  It is foolish to rake up your leaves before this time of the year, as they always have the potential to continue falling.  Our Aurora property management portfolio is comprised of many single-family homes, so we know just exactly three toll the falling leaves take on the home, yard, gutters and surrounding pathways.  This is a job best left for the absolute end of the season, to avoid putting in too much extra work.  We recommend getting the leaf sucks that grind and mulch the leaves.  This makes it much easier to take care of, to bag afterwards, and to cut down on waste of many extra bags for yards with a ton of leaves.  We also believe that right now is the best time to do it, as the days are now shorter, but the sun is still out and shining rightly.  So, you may have less time during the week to attempt to get the leaves but, you just need to switch your priorities so that you are doing inside house work during the week and switching to outside house work during the weekend.  This is all of course dependent on the weather, but there is no snow in the forecast for at least a week or two, so get out there.  You will wnat to do this for any vacant properties you have as well. And as always, we are here if you need us for anything Aurora property management related.
