I've moved to eXp Realty and I'm Stoked
Some may think I'm a curious creature because I embrace change rather than fearing it. I find change exciting, refreshing, motivating, fun, and a great way to discover new ways of doing things. I made a great career change two weeks ago that I'm really stoked about. No, I didn't leave real estate. Rather I moved from an interesting career at one of the Keller Williams franchises to an exciting career at cloud-based eXp Realty. Wow am I glad I made the change! That's not because there was anything wrong with my prior place but rather because I'm now with a nationwide cloud-based company with no need for brick and mortar offices. As more and more agents discover the way this new company does business it's growth is becoming exponential as it attracts top talent from the old-school companies. In fact eXp Realty is the fastest-growing USA real estate company by far.
Creating a nationwide office in the cloud rather than a thousand offices made it possible for eXp Realty to operate as one nationwide company instead of hundreds of individually-owned franchise operations. Don't make the mistake of thinking the cloud office is simply a bunch of internet tools. This company has what is truly a first-class office in the cloud with conference rooms, training rooms, tools, technical support, broker support, and even some fun things thrown in here and there.
In these first 2 weeks I have discovered that a cloud-based office is a huge benefit to eXp Realty agents and by extension to their clients. A primary benefit is the time savings of not needing to drive to the office for anything. There is no need to suit-up and show-up with all that entails such as wasted time driving to and from the office. Because we're a nationwide company with cloud-based training, agents have access to top trainers every day which is impossible for individually-owned franchise operations to match as they must rely solely on trainers in their particular geographic area. I have found the tools offered to be equal to or superior to those I have used at other brokerages. As I dig deeper in underlying capability I am sure to be even more impressed. Support is outstanding, one simply goes to the cloud office, takes a number, and talks with an expert. I've always gotten ticket # 1 with a wait of only a minute or so and my question or problem was resolved right there. This compares with the old-school way of looking up a phone number, dialing it, listening carefully to a message telling you which buttons to punch, punching the right button, and then listening to some "delightful" music while waiting for a real person to come on the line, a person who may say I need to talk to someone else (sound familiar?). All this is also a benefit to the client because less wasted time means their agent has more time to serve them. Other benefits that extend to the client are the superior tools their agent uses such as KvCORE and DigiSign plus the ease of handling inbound and outbound referrals as one nationwide company instead of hundreds of individual companies with competing interests and procedures.
I do have two regrets (1) the very fine people I no longer see at the office and (2) that I didn't do it sooner! Neither causes me to even begin to have second thoughts.
