Can One Hour Make A Difference In The Housing Market?

As Daylight Savings Time Ends...

Can One Hour Make A Difference In The Housing Market?

Last night, in many parts of the United States, we "fell back" and moved our clocks back by one hour.  For many of us, getting back that extra hour of sleep lost last spring made a huge difference! For me, having light outside my windows by 7:00 am is the real "bonus."  But did you know that just one hour in the housing market can also make a difference?

The Difference One Hour Can Make In The Housing Market

If you're a home seller, it's obviously wonderful news that each hour not only do 614 homes sell (compared with 596 homes just one year ago), but also that an average of 95 homes regain some positive equity, while median home values increase by $1.38 (compared with $1.20 one year ago). The time to sell is NOW!

If you're a home buyer, this should tell you that the longer you wait, the more you will pay for a home. The time to buy is NOW!

Hopefully, you didn't forget to move your clocks back last tonight.  Why not use that extra hour you've gained to search for a new home or get your home ready to sell? Afterall, each hour does make a difference.

OR, you could just sleep late and spend the day in front of the tv :)

I, for one, am thrilled that it won't be pitch dark when I leave the house for work every morning at 6:15.
