It is that time of year again, Fall, when the Delaware Antiques Show which benefits Winterthur is held at the Chase Center in downtown Wilmington. Easy to reach from Baltimore, or Philadelphia and surrounding areas it is a gathering of about 60+ dealers from the New England and Mid West areas of America.
They bring a wonderful assortment of wares, furniture, silver, ceramics, art, fine art and jewelry to name a few with which you can decorate your home or collect for investment purposes.
Many people say they are environmentalists or concerned about climate change but continue to harm the climate by buying new things such as clothes and furniture which both harm the environment. From the production of trees to the milling and construction plus the shipping of the finished products the furniture industry has a very high carbon footprint.
Far better to purchase antique and mid century items to use around your home, decorate the walls with original art rather than new prints that actually will be a worthwhile investment as well.
Open from November 8th through the 10th, with an opening night party on Thursday November 7th at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, Wilmington, Delaware
And mark your calendar for the Chester County Antiques Show held at the Church Farm School in Exton to benefit The Chester County Historical Society March 13-15, 2020.
