A Matter of Perspective: Letting Sleeping Cats Lie!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

We are well aware that the original phrase is "letting sleeping dogs lie" which means, To leave things as they are; especially, to avoid restarting or rekindling an old argument; to leave disagreements in the past.  However, we think the word "cats" works too.  It is all a matter of perspective, why dredge up the past?  Happy Friday!

That cat is leading a charmed life, Alexandra.  And, it looks a lot like my Rueben.  I had to do a double take.

I found the email you sent me a couple days ago in my "spam" folder.  I have no idea how it got directed there.  Anyway, I am looking forward to lunch at Biba's.

This is the second time I have written this comment here.  The first one was blown up because ActiveRain said it was "Under heavy load."  I had to check the stars to see if my suspicions were confirmed with all this missed communication stuff.  Yep, Mercury is retrograde!

I agree with you. Nothing can change it so it is a waste of energy dwelling on it. Love that picture of Quincy. That purple throw or whatever it is, it's gorgeous.

Hello Alexandra and Ron - here's to perspective.  I am sure Quincy agrees.  Just as soon as he wakes from his cat nap.

I love it! My mother sent me to a strict German knitting teacher when I was 7 (almost 60 years ago!) I love to knit! I taught Dave to knit as hand therapy when he lost a finger in an accident, and of course he is a master. Yes, the cat definitely looks spoiled. Beautiful afghan.

What a lovely picture, Alexandra. All of my cats have loved to sleep under a blanket that way too. And we've used that expression "let sleeping cats lie" in our household for decades since we've always had at least one cat in the house.

I love the picture of your contented kitty. And I admire your knitting skill.

The phrase "let sleeping dogs lie" has a special meaning for me. My dogs formed a new habit over the summer - getting me up WAY before necessary. As in sometimes 5 a.m.

If I don't respond to a bit of whining and pawing at the bed, they persist. And you just haven't had a rude awakening until 100 pounds of dog lands on top of you in your sleep.

Now that it gets light much later, they've been sleeping until 6 or even 6:30 - so if I happen to wake up and they're still sleeping, I lay still and go back to sleep. Any movement from me will awaken them.
