Brussels sprouts were abundant this morning at the Santa Barbara Farmers Market. We like them roasted in the pizza oven with a touch of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. We learned to like them at Industrial Eats who serves them that way. You can also duplicate this in a hot cast iron pan.
The herb vendor is back with all kinds of tantalizing choices to plant in your herb garden including sugar snap peas!
Delicata squash is aptly named in our opinion. It has a delicate taste and is delicious stuffed with spicy Italian chicken sausage!
BD Trine Farms specializes in herbs and wild arugula. We always stop here for fresh Italian parsley and other herbs we will be using. This is culinary lavender! Many chefs use it instead of rosemary in recipes.
This arrangement of radicchio de Treviso with lettuce on a blue cloth was breathtaking. Radicchio de Treviso is one of the staples in our home. We use it in a tri-colore salad which consists of wild arugula, endive and radicchio. We garnish it with walnuts and fresh thin slices of Parmesan! All that is topped with a simple lemon and oil of your choice dressing.
Wishing you all an abundance of Saturday Smiles!
