Puppy face got my attention while driving yesterday. I was glad we made eye contact at the traffic light. He could see me, smell I was there, and I wondered what made this puppy so cute? If the light never changed, I would not have cared for this this little puppy continued to stare. Without a reasonable doubt, this puppy wanted me to smile, so I did. Happiness can be found in just another face away. Yay! I was happy!
Was it chance luck I got caught by the light or a stroke of luck puppy face wanted to put a smile on my face? What is it that makes us smile at somebodies puppy? Is it puppy love? Or just a chance to smile and break out of interrupting thoughts that pop into your head when you least expect it, always causing you to remember to do something, be somewhere, or want something. Puppy stares broke me out of my spell, totally forgetting what I was thinking and all I could do was stop, stare, and smile.
The quicksand that lies in waiting for the light to change with a cute puppy face with red floppy ears and a wet shiny nose looking back is that you can't help but smile and perhaps feel a little jealous that you're not a puppy. Puppy love is genuinely real until the horn behinds you honks and breaks the spell and your happy smile fades because of an impatient driver who has no idea what puppy love and life is really all about. Be happy!
