Thank a Veteran today, they'll appreciate the gesture!

Veterans are true heroes to be honored every day for selflessly stepping up to serve and sacrifice for the U.S.A. Those who came before us gave plenty, some gave their all to ensure our rights, privileges and freedoms!

My father John served in the Army, fought in Vietnam. Thank you Dad! My husband is Navy retired and gave 20+ years of his life to the military and was in Desert Storm, he is to be honored today as well! Thank you My Honey!

My cousin Randall Edwin Graves is on the Vietnam War Memorial Wall and his father Robert Edwin Graves on the Korean War Memorial wall. Robert was never brought home, may they both rest in peace. Thank you both!

I come from a long line of military heroes who served at home and abroad, some died during wartime or due to events that happened while serving. I respect each and every one of them and today, Thank a Vet, they'll appreciate the gesture!

My uncle Johnny has his name on the Vietnam wall as well.  He did get to come home, but sadly it was in the cargo of the plane.  I was a child, but it always stayed with me.

Loved your post Wanda, the key is thanking a Veteran is nice provided it comes from the heart, yes I know your thank you does, but I have seen many who are just like as if you said Hello, no meaning behind it.... on a side note what units was your hubby in and what years did he serve? Endre

Sincere prayers go out to you and your family. My cousin promised he would come back Tammy Lankford,. He was 23, never married, no children. His bloodline styopped right there because he was the only boy in the family. His dad, my Uncle Robert was a POW in Korea and died there. I still cry when I think of the enormous loss.
