Hi Everyone! An appreciation of Veterans Day -- a day to remember and
salute and thank our Heroes.

"Honoring the sacrifices many have made for our country in the name of
freedom and democracy is the very foundation of Veterans Day."
~Charles b. Rangel
"While only one day of the year is dedicated solely to honoring our veterans,
Americans must never forget the sacrifices that many of our fellow

~Randy Neugebauer
"Duty, Honor, Country. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what
you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be."
~Douglas MacArthur
"There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty that makes human nature rise above
itself, in acts of bravery and heroism." ~Alexander Hamilton
"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must
suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war."
~Douglas MacArthur
"On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us
renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans
and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free."
~Dan Lipinski
"How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our HEROES. and
SHE-ROES." ~Maya Angelou

"Lord, bid war's trumpet cease; Fold the whole Earth in Peace."
~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Those of us who have seen the movie, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, with Tom
Hanks will remember the last scene in the cemetery of hundreds of white
crosses as the now older (former Private) Ryan delivers the lines:
"My Family is with me. They wanted to come to be with me.
Every day I think of what you said to me that day on the bridge:
to live my life the best I could. I hope that was enough; I hope
that at least, in your eyes, I have earned all that you have done
for me."
(the now elderly Ryan turns to his wife and says):
" Tell me I've led a good life.
Tell me I'm a good man."

My father was in the Army and served in the Pacific in WWII. My wife's father was in the Navy and also served in the Pacific.
They are gone not. We still cherish their memories and their service for our freedom and out sovereign nation.

Morning Jane.
Douglas said it all. I honor them every day, not just one day a year.

Good morning Jane. Amazingly close on the choice today but my choice is:
"There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty that makes human nature rise above
itself, in acts of bravery and heroism." ~Alexander Hamilton

Hello Jane - each quote is noteworthy but this one resonates with me as I read your post the day after Veteran's Day:
"While only one day of the year is dedicated solely to honoring our veterans,
Americans must never forget the sacrifices that many of our fellow
countrymen have made to defend our country and protect our freedom."
~Randy Neugebauer
