Rediscovering my joy of writing...

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

Good morning!!

I woke this morning peaceful. Optimistic. Excited...

For in front of me, at least for the next 30 minutes, I am able to do something that only recently I have discovered gives me joy…

To write. To share. To tell my little story…

Yesterday I had been challenged to come up with my dream life. To put that life down on paper and live it…

It was an exciting challenge. Write down what I wanted for myself, in all aspects of my life…

Relationship? Health? Spirituality? Career? I could do and be and have anything I wanted…

But honestly it was more of a challenge than I expected. It drained me and left me feeling a bit inadequate…

Parts of the challenge came easy…

I would like to be married again. I want a wife, a partner, a friend that I love and respect. Someone to share experiences with. Someone to care for and be cared by…

I also want to live a healthy life. One with a degree of fitness, healthy eating, and a little less of the bad things I used to put in my body so often…

Spirituality is important to me as well. Connecting on some level with a higher power. My inner self…

And I feel I am on the right path in a relationship, health and spiritual way…

However, I struggled with my perfect career goals…

Am I on the right path with my career? Am I doing what I am meant to be doing?

I am a real estate agent. It is how I have defined myself for over 14 years…

I like what I do. I run my own business. I have the potential for unlimited income and a flexible schedule…

But is that enough for me? Is that who I am? Does it give me the meaning that I seek? I am not sure…

I would rather define myself as a writer. Someone who is able to put down his thoughts and feelings on paper. And to share it with my audience…

To connect in a personal way with those that can relate. Connecting in a strangely intimate way…

To be transparent. Vulnerable. Open. Honest. To expose myself in a way that most wouldn’t. To be real…

And to have my reality read and be enjoyed by the reader. To inspire them. To let them know they are not alone. To touch lives, and by so doing, to have my life touched…

For this is what gives me purpose. Gives me joy. Gives me meaning…

And when I describe myself as a writer, I can honestly say I love what I do…

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Ken
