A quiet time for my real estate sales in Naperville...

By

Good morning!

I woke this morning from a deep sleep…

The house was quiet. So quiet that I lay for a few minutes and enjoyed the silence…

As I lay there comfortably, my thoughts slowly shifted to the day in front of me. My schedule. What needed to get done…

And while there is still work to do, as there always is, my schedule was quite open. Too open…

Outside of a lunch appointment with a business owner in town, and picking up my daughters from school later in the day, my schedule was wide open…

And this isn’t the first day I have felt like this recently. It is a pattern that has been repeated often over the last few months…

“Why is this?” I found myself wondering…

I have been working hard, doing the things that need be done in the world of real estate sales…

Staying in touch with past clients. Meeting tons of new people. Growing my brand and my business…

Yet the appointments with real live actual home buyers and sellers are down. Way down…

Could it be the season? The economy? The real estate market?

I have been selling homes for over 14 years, so am aware of the fluctuations in this business…

However, as my first boss used to say, the market is the market. People always need to move. My job is to find those people and help them achieve their goals…

So I face the day with an open schedule. Looking to help people. Wanting to make a difference. To be productive. Active. Alive…

Wondering what this quiet time is meant to teach me...

Good morning Ken. Prospect today or have a week of vacation three weeks from now. Can't remember what coaching guru said it, but always found it somewhat true. Good luck! Enjoy your day!

OH, it is during those lulls that Spirit calls you to ENJOY the silence, peace, recreation without apology. Drink it in . . . it won't last.

Hi Candice!  Thanks!  I can't afford to enjoy the silence unfortunately, and have been doing a good job of focusing on the postive, but today is a challenge...

Hi Ken- some might say don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I'd say...enjoy it, spend some extra time with your daughters and get ready for tomorrow.

Hi Kathy!!  Perhaps I have been doing it wrong, but had more cancellations than new contracts over the last few months, and am more than a bit concerned honestly...

I'm sure it's difficult to accept this lull, especially when you really do need to fill the coffers. Try to keep the faith, and keep your heart and mind open to the possibilities. It sounds as if you are doing all the right things.
