Can You Do It Now?

 CAN YOU DO IT NOW?

If you knew what food, thoughts, and feelings

did to your body, would you change your ways

On how you spend your days?

Or are you content with how you cheated

yourself over trouble, anxiety, and worry

Because you were in such a hurry?

The voice inside your head is always talking

did you listen carefully or were you unaware

Or was it perhaps, you didn't you care?

Life is for living, your thoughts do matter

are you willing to adapt to change

Do you care when you age?

If good health has more opportunities than challenges

would your efforts demonstrate value

Now or when you have to?

Everyday when I'm on ActiveRain, reading what other members write and share their life experiences, or illustrate a point I can agree with, it inspires me to be a little better. I find ActiveRain is more than just Social Media, it's culture rich and a good diet to follow. Happy thoughts always puts me in a good mood. Sometimes, someone writes something so poignant it causes me to look in the mirror at myself and inspires me with more determination to change my ways. Food for thought is a good way to start the day. This post is dedicated to Barbara Todaro who did not hide her truth and made significant changes to her body, mind, and soul. For Barbara, I shall be forever changed.

Good morning Patricia. AR is a plethora of food for thought. I ponder much of it over coffee. Some sticks with me to the end of the day and gets attention over an adult libation. Enjoy your day!

Good morning, Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP thank you so much.... the reason I share the "worst photos" anyone could posssibly think of sharing is to put the thought of improvement in anyone's head who is opened to thinking about improving....one must be convinced that it's time!!  it's very personal.

the longer one waits the more risky it is to maintain that "unhealthy state" of mind and body.... and the mind always leads the way...when one thinks properly about this extreme change, it happens.... with the proper guidance, it can happen to anyone....and it's a long road.... consistent behavior is important and that was the benefit of weight loss surgery for me.... the support is there within groups.... the program is powerful.... the reprogramming  of one's mind and habits will carry on through an entire life..... it's a tool.... if used properly, one can't miss.

I have certainly changed the way that I eat and I don't miss the way I ate previously at all.  I continue to try and get better with regard to what I eat.

Good morning Patricia. I admire Barbara for so many reasons: principally because she is herself and makes no apolozies for her choices. Nice post.

Good morning, Patricia... lots of food for thought here! And it's not even fattening!  Moving forward in many aspects of life is certainly easier when it's thought of as an opportunity and not a challenge.

This is inspiring Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - we all have the ability to make good choices that honor our mind, body, and spirit. Do we always do it?  I can honestly say, not 100% yet, but we'll get there. Lol. And yes, Barbara is an amazing example of changing a lifestyle for the better. She is simply an incredible woman.

Hi Patricia,
I'm not sure most people truly understand the power of their thoughts... and, yet, everything we do starts with a thought, doesn't it?  Excellent post!

Patricia I try, but I could do better, and I do make adjustments when I notice things going in the wrong direction.  Unfortunately the more I mature in life the more adjustment it seems I need to make

Patricia, when I read Barbara Todaro's post on "Before and After" I told myself I can lose 20 pounds, and start my exercising again. She is truly an inspiration to me.  I love this post and how sweet that you dedicated it to Barbara.

Hi Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP, our health is the greatest wealth we can ever have. To live  a healthy lifestyle is a choice and it takes planning, commitment, and desire. Sadly, many of us don't realize this later in life. This is a wonderful post, thank you!

Oh, I love this post and you are so right, there are SO many inspirational people here in the Rain and Barbara sits atop that list for me! I have to say, you're right up there with her, Patricia!

I remember learning at a young age, you'll never be able to enjoy any wealth you create without health. That is your #1 commodity. When I eat something naughty, I often think of that - and I will admit, sometimes it stops me, sometimes it doesn't!! 😉
