This doesn't have anything to do with real estate, but I just wanted to post this to let everybody know. Somebody emailed this story to me today. A woman's son came home and said that the license plate on his car was missing. The boy called the police to report the license plate stolen. The cop he talked to told him that with the cost of gas rising people have taken to stealing the license plates off of cars and putting them on their own. They then proceed to "gas and go" with the stolen license plate on thier car. So when the gas station reports it, the cops have your license plate and you get into trouble. Just wanted to let everybody know, keep an eye on your license plates and if they should go missing, report the theft immediately.
In Los Angeles you cannot fill your tank without first swiping your credit card through the machine at the pump (or pre-paying).
WOW! You know somebody told me the other day that my license tag only had one screw in it. I looked and I was like where are my screws. I wonder if somebody was trying to get my tag and then maybe had to run off. I need to get some screws TOMORROW!!
Luke, Thanks for the info! I'm shocked!

This is really scary! I guess in a slow economy people resort to desperate measures...
