Found A Way To Relieve Stress And Increase Happiness

Since I'm in the car a lot, I've become a radio news junkie. What I've noticed is that it's had an affect on me in subtle ways. Especially since the presidential primaries have been going on, I notice that I'm a little more prone to be stressed or generally bent out of shape. I realized the other day that the more I listen to talk radio, the more out of sorts I get.

Today I decided to have a radio-free day. It really helped me be a little bit more care-free today. I wasn't hearing how one cadidate is going to wreck the country and which politician was being indicted and which starlet was showing naughty parts, etc. I've decided I'm going to limit my radio time each day.

Here's why I'm sharing this... I got to thinking that if I'm allowing this stuff to fill my head an affect my mood and demeanor, it could hurt my business. It could give me a negative slant on life which will make me a negative person which will turn people away from me. If you're a news junkie like me, and it's making you a sourpuss, maybe it's time to rethink that.

Thanks for reading,

Dennis

I'm a news junkie too - I listen to CNN all day long in my car.  The other day I just randomnly put a DC in instead of my usual morning news routine.  I couldn't believe what a good mood I was in when I got where I was going.  There is definitely something to be said for taking a news break sometimes.

Hi Dennis,

I most always drive in silence. It's the only silence I get all day while I'm awake. I think it's good to give yourself a little break.

Im a news junkie also. Listening to the radio, or tv, or scanning the internet I cant help it. However when I know its enough, I always have that CD handy to change the mood.

Its hard for me to drive in silence, when I try I drive so slow and alway run behind because I start thinking too much. Guess everyone has a different style.

I am motivational junkie and listen to motivational CD's in the car to keep pumped up!

If you listen to the radio and news you are currently feeding your mind and body STRESS!

Never forget that what you see, hear and feed your body is who you are now and does create who you will be tomorrow.

If you want success and happiness - Dream it...Live it!

It's true.  I went on a  2 year hiatus from talk radio and it did wonders.  You can learn a language in the same time if you just listen to tapes.  Es la verdad!

It's very true. It is a real good idea to listen to positive things as much as possible and silence is very good also.

I keep uplifting music in the car which for me is Native American. And then I must still be selective about it.l
