Not a cookie-cutter anymore...

Real Estate Agent with Thompson Company, REALTORS® MD594797

It's no secret that I am not a fan of cookie-cutter homes. I love individual charm. I love the history of older homes and the stories they tell. And I love authentic, original details.

But I also appreciate when (new) owners put their heart and soul into their property, cookie-cutter or not, and transform it into a one of a kind-home. Just like this center hall Colonial pictured below that I pass by frequently. Over the last year or so ( I can't remember when I first started noticing that things were happening, but it wasn't that long ago) I've witnessed its transformation from bland 1980s cookie-cutter to star of the street. Clearly, the new owners have been infusing their style and have turned a vision into reality.

I love what they've done! The grey siding complemented by the black shutters, the clean look, the stone retaining walls... it looks trendy and classic at the same time. The always up-to-date seasonal porch decor adds personality and warmth.

This home was transformed, from bland 1980s Colonial to star of the street. The pride of home ownership shows. Clearly, this is a labor of love, and not a cookie-cutter anymore! What do you think?

I think it looks very appealing.  That would not be a cookie cutter home in my market.

Good morning Andrea. I own the oldest home in my old town and have done a lot to it as well. Please use a bigger font.

Usually, when I am working with buyers that don't want cookie cutter, they aren't willing to pay the price for a non-cookie cutter home, haha.  I have seen that even when a cookie-cutter home has been purchased, they can improve it in a manner that makes it not look like a cookie-cutter home!

I love what they have done on the exterior Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 , and do wonder what the inside looks like. I bet, it's just as wonderful.

Hi Grant! It's an eye-catcher now for sure!

Hi Sheila Anderson! Have you posted pictures/told stories about your home? How awesome! ... I'm sorry you are having difficulties with the font? I'm not doing anything different nor making it smaller.. perhaps your browser setting? I have been having issues with Google Chrome though, am unable to write/edit blogs there and had to switch to Firefox or IE. Perhaps that's the reason?

Unique can definitely come with a different price-tag Brian England. It's still location, location, location up here though. There are a few historic communities that are affordable, and others - more popular ones - not so much.

Hello again Andrea. I have spent 8 years working on my home. As far as the font is concerned you can make it bigger by simply choosing 14 before you write or publish.

Love this house and the style of it. I agree with the no cookie cutter style. We try to avoid that when remodeling at all costs.
