I guess 8 was enough. I have always been thankful to have been from a big family. I am the oldest child in our family. I always wondered why my parents had this idea that they wanted to have 8 kids. None of us have ever had the thought about why other families we know only having one or two or a couple more children. We were always the big giant Seaton family. We always had to travel around with a station wagon, or a Volkswagon van. The oddest part of the whole thing is that both of our parents were from families with only two children. One boy and one girl. My mom was the oldest and my dad was the oldest.
Thankful doesn't begin to explain how cool it is to know that at least 3-4 times a year, we are always going to be together for Thanksgiving and Christmas and maybe a wedding or baptism or two. As we've gotten older through the years, these get togethers mean more and more.

My family The funny part of the 8 of us is that for several years after I was born, there was a unfounded fear I had that I was never going to have any little brothers. The order of birth then proceeded like this. Scott, Susie, Kathy, Sandy, Mike, Pat, Mark and Chris. Final score was 5-3 in favor of the boys.
The other funny thing, is that even though we had more boys than girls in our sibling family, there are only 5 nephews from all of us, but there are 14 nieces. The best of all is that the cousins have the greatest memories from all the holidays they have spent together. Family's grow older and children take up more and more time, but we will always be thankful that our family has been able to have the best times whenever we get together.
