Long Island Home Seller Asks: When Is The Best Time To Sell?

We hear this question all the time: When Is The Best Time To Sell Our Long Island Home?

Our Answer: The Best Time To Sell Is When You and Your House Is Ready...

Houses on Long Island sell all the time. No matter what time of the year it is, they sell. It doesn't matter what month or day it is...they sell. We have sold on the snowest of days, the heat of the summer, and when it is pouring rain outside - they sell. We even sold one on Christmas Eve!

Buyers are out and about all the time. Job transfers can happen any time of the year. Retirees want more leisure living, young families are growing, some may want a climate change or they want to move closer to family and friends. Some want to get into a home before the start of the school year.  Some want to settle into a home before the end of the year, or some may be ready to move at the start of a new year. Many diferent reasons, and many different scenarios.

If your house is on the market, priced well, in good condition, it's going to sell.

If your house is not on the market...it's not going to sell!

Our Suggestion: List your house when you are confident it is ready to sell and it will make a strong first impression. Decluttering, making small repairs, maintaining the curb appeal to be inviting, can help your residence shine above the competition.

Bottom Line: No matter what experts may suggest, there is no magic day to sell your home. Getting it "Show Ready" is the first step...

Please call us when you (and your home) are ready to sell on Long Island. Have us list it for sale and get it SOLD...

Hello Sheila and Larry - when it comes to Long Island real estate, your point of the best timing shows that you are in tuned not with the local market but with people.  That's important and that is another reason why prospective buyers and sellers need to contact you for their representation.

That's my answer as well, when asked, Sheila and Larry... the best time to sell is when you and your house are ready.

That is the answer that should always be given and it is the answer that I always give.  It is sad that some agents will pretend to know the market and encourage people to sell before they are truly ready to sell.
