Gratitude and Congratulations

Closing Day

Closing day is simultaneously "opening day."  It's the day that opens the door to a new reality.  The sellers are no longer attached to a home or property and the new owner(s) of the property get a fresh start as the owner of what will be one of the largest investments in their lifetime.

The Journey

I met my sellers back in 2014 when I was in property management. After I stopped managing properties, they became the property management clients of a company that I sold my accounts to. Each year at renewal time, one of the sellers would contact me to get an update on comps for the area.  They needed to decide whether it was a good time to sell the property or not.  For four years straight (2015 - 2018) I knew to expect that email and as I had done in the past, I sent him comparable sales that proved that it just was not the right time to sell and walk away with the kind of net they desired.

Are We There Yet?

Well this year was different.  Comps looked great.  Home values were up and it was time to list.  Priced right and ready to sell, the house hit the market within a month.  Showings were steady.  A few offers came through and finally there was one in which the buyer and seller felt they could live with (at full list price not less).

There were some hiccups along the way, but in the end, they worked it out and we closed on Friday, November 22, 2019.

Gratitude and Congrats

In the end, I am really grateful and honored that the seller kept in touch and trusted that I was the right person for the job.  I congratulate the family for their patience, perseverance and the successful sale of their property.

Hello Charita - you're right.  Closing Day is like A Grand Opening of sorts in real estate.  Simultaneous celebrations.  Congratulations all around.

Good afternoon Charita Cadenhead - it take time to develop but staying with clients rather that looking for a quick sale has paid off.

Hi Charita- you know, I never thought of Closing Day as being more like Opening Day. It's an opening to a new journey for the buyer as well as the seller.

Nick I'm glad too because it doesn't always happen that way.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

Of course you were the right person, Charita! I love this story and it really goes to show that staying in touch is really all we need to be doing in this business to maintain our clients!

We can save the money we spend on the websites, advertising ourselves and simply let our clients know we care - it comes back to us over and over again.

Thanks Joan and Georgie.

Debe so many agents sink money into efforts that work for other agents instead of what works for them and then they get frustrated.  Sometimes they just have to learn the hard way.
