1. Complete Deep Dusting
Make sure you deep dust. With the furnace on and a lot of indoor activities now dust from the summer and fall get stuck in small areas.
Dust tends to get thrown around when the heater is on. It's flu/cold season and our bodies are more susceptible to dust.
Wipe down your light switches, dust your lamps and give your baseboards a solid dusting.
2. Check All Outdoor Lights
Nightfall comes early in the winter. Ensure your home exterior is well lit and all your lights are in excellent working condition.
3. Clean Range Hood
This is an area in which grime tends to collect. Not only is it unsightly to have a dirty range and hood but it can also be unhealthy. Your range hood funnels out odors and fumes in your home. Take a moment and give it a good cleaning.
4. Check Flashlights
With power outages a common occurrence during winter months make sure you have plenty of flashlights (and batteries on hand).
5. Check Attic Insulation
Proper insulation can help lower your heating bill. One of the biggest culprits of a high heating bill is inadequate attic insulation.
