Recovering From a Tryptophan Overdose

Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565

It's been unusually quiet around my house this weekend. I've been like a toad enduring a Tryptophan overdose. Thanksgiving at my house this year was a smaller gathering than hoped for. Snow storms in the Sierra Nevadas kept family members in Reno from venturing home for the holiday. But, there's always next year!

Once family vacated my house, I began serious couch time.  I've had a fire going in the fireplace, and yesterday, I watched "The Irishman" via Netflix.  It's a riveting flick that runs almost 3 1/2 hours in length.  It has an amazing cast which includes, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, just to name a few.  If you have ever wondered what happened to Jimmy Hoffa, you may wish to watch.  It's based on the true story of truck driver Frank Sheeran, who is involved with a crime family. And, ultimately ends up working for Jimmy Hoffa!  The flick comes with a strong language warning for those who may be offended!

Myrl. Looks like you still had a good turnout.  The weather can definitely play havoc with travel plans. After all the turkey day prep you deserve to chill out on the couch.

Hi Myrl,
What a great picture of your visitors! Your table of food looks delectable. Who wouldn't overdose on that?  The weather has played some havoc in our area too. That's one of the reasons I prefer not to plan on travel during the holidays. You just never know.

No tryptophan overdose for me. I had Thanksgiving dinner at my sis-in-laws assisted living facility. They serve adequate but no overdose servings of food.

Enjoy your well-earned down time.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - I was thinking with a title like that, folks would suspect an opiod crisis was in play.  But, Tryptophan is a serious consequence of eating far too much turkey!

Ron and Alexandra Seigel  - I was really tempted to bring out the multi colored plates that were bought at the Dollar Tree years ago.  My grandkids always loved them.  However, I wanted to test the kids' maturity with the good china this year. . .

Sharon Lee - There were only nine of us this year.  Usually, we are around 14 or 15.

Michelle Cherie CarrCrowe Just Call...408-252-8900 - It really was a wonderful day.  But, I cooked entirely too much food!

Carol Williams - I tried to avoid the tryptophan overdose by sending some of the leftovers home with others.  Also, we had Thanksgiving Round 2, for lunch on Friday!  I'm pretty sure that's what did me in!

Good evening Myrl Jeffcoat ,

Unfortunately there are many enduring an overdose of eating too much turkey. I'm sure you are on the mend now as many others are and they same will probably happen again next year. When will we ever learn? NOT!!

Myrl- oh took me until today to feel back to semi-normal and I didn't even eat that much turkey. In fact, we thought we had some turkey leftover but when I looked in the fridge on Friday there was none!!! Your table looks so inviting!

What a coincidence, Myrl... I was staying with friends in Connecticut last week and after the guests left on Thursday, we also watched The Irishman. A truly powerful movie.

Hi Myrl - although longer than I typically like, I enjoyed The Irishman as well.  Your dining area you share is light and bright - the ideal setting to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Bernie wants to watch this and I've been hesitant because I don't enjoy watching violence. Strong language doesn't bother me. Lol.  I'll be watching it now, thanks to you.  ( Happy looking Thanksgiving bunch)
