SpaceX Falcon 9 launch Wednesday Dec. 4, 2019

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL

SpaceX will launch a Falcon 9 rocket today, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Liftoff is scheduled for 12:51pm.

At this time, there is expected to be an 90% chance of good weather at launch time. The main concern is higher surface winds during liftoff.

If the launch is scrubbed due to weather or technical issues, the next attempt will be on Thursday, December 5th, when an 80% chance of good weather is expected. The main concern is expected to be low level clouds.

We are having cooler weather here on Cocoa Beach with a high in the 60s expected so don’t forget your sweatshirt or jacket. Plan to arrive early to miss the traffic and the crowds so you can find a great viewing spot.

You are so right...things come to a screeching halt once the countdown begins until it launches. Unfortunately, it was scrubbed today due to upper level winds and rough seas but tomorrow they will try again.

Barbara, I'll bet that you still remember that launch and have a great memory to share with you children and grandchildren! Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach have changed quite a bit over the years so the area is probably much different than when you were here. Diana

the three children were with us....and we on the highway very close to cape canaveral when that shuttle blasted off.... all cars were pulled over and we were all looking up.... they all remember and they were in elementary school....

Brian, You are correct, it was scrubbed and I just posted a new blog with the update.

It was scrubbed due to upper level winds and rough seas but they will try again tomorrow.
