Shopping Galore at the 2019 Makers Market
A Crafter’s Showcase in Carlsbad Village
Once again Carlsbad Village will be hosting the Makers Market Crafter’s Showcase, this coming Saturday, December 7th, from 9 am until 4 pm.
The Crafter’s Showcase will be held in the north parking lot at 2938 Roosevelt Avenue, between Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive.
This event is FREE to attend, but don’t forget your credit cards and cash for gift buying!
In case you did not get your shopping started, or completed, at Small Business Saturday this past weekend, this popular open air market will offer you the opportunity for more holiday shopping with self-designed and handcrafted items from 50 local and regional artisans. These are juried-only participants taking part so you can expect the quality and creativity is extra special.
As with other arts and crafts events we see in Carlsbad during the year, you’ll find a wide range of hand-crafted items – beading, jewelry, leatherwork, artisanal foods, 3D functional art, linens, fabric creations, re-purposed materials, soaps and related products, glass works, and who knows what else. Remember, these are all hand-made, not factory-production items, so you can expect some unique crafts.
And you’ll have a chance to chat with their creators, too, and find out how things are made and what their inspiration was!
There will be live music, and you can expect some food discounts at some of the local restaurants. And if by chance you don’t find the perfect gifts at the Makers Market Crafter’s Showcase, or even if you do, there are abundant retailers in the Village nearby to also consider for your holiday shopping.
HOLIDAY WINDOW DECORATING CONTEST
While you are in the Village be sure to check out the holiday window displays, then vote for your favorite of the 31 participants on the Carlsbad Village Association website for the People’s Choice Award (there are 2 other prize categories with separate groups of judges, too).
OTHER HOLIDAY EVENTS
Other holiday events this weekend include the Holiday at the Rancho tree lighting and celebration on December 7, Pets on Parade on the 7th at the Village Faire, with the annual holiday tree lighting at the Carlsbad Village Faire on December 8th.
