The City of Denver will provide Denver residents some grand entertainment on Friday & Saturday!  The 44th annual Parade of Lights will be held in downtown Denver with a 2-mile route for families to enjoy the lights and sounds of a Holiday parade.

Parade of Lights

Friday night - 12/06 Parade will begin at 8 pm

Saturday night - 12/7 Parade will begin at 6 pm

You won’t want to miss the sparkling lights, marching bands, ornate floats and delightful characters including Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa, as they take to the streets of Downtown.  Spectator viewing for the Parade is free all along the two-mile route or purchase grandstand tickets for seating in front of the City & County Building.

The weather is expected to be chilly, be sure to bundle up the kiddos, pack some hot chocolate and be prepared to enjoy some great entertainment.   If you decide not to pack anything, many restaurants in the area would love to see you!

Route for Parade of Lights

The parade route will begin in front of Civic Center Park and 14th Avenue and will continue along the 2-mile route with Santa bringing up the rear.

The 16th Street Mall free shuttle will not run during the one-hour parade.   Plan ahead if you plan to drive downtown and find a parking space.

The light rail will be a great option to get downtown, and exit at 18th & Stout for the best location.  The service will uninterrupted before and after the Parade.   During the Parade, service will not be available to Stout & California and between 14th & 18th.

There are Grandstand tickets available for purchase, however, the parade is free.   The Grandstand tickets are $19.00 for those 13 and older, $16.00 for those 2-12.    Under 2 are FREE.   All tickets will be $25.00 day of Parade.

Nina Hollander I don't think so, still have a cough, and don't want to get sick again, leaving soon for the trip.

Wow your parade is twice, that is nice for those that can't make the first one.  Our little town only has one and it was last night.  We did have a little over 100 entries though so it is growing slowly.

Norma J. Elkins it is nice, so if the weather is bad one night, hopefully the other is good.   Plus, so much going on during the Holiday season, options are good.

Hi Joan Cox - I am a wimp, I probably couldn't handle the temps!  We went to the Parade of Lights (boats) in Huntington Harbor a couple of times and I found that too cold. It was probably in the 60ºs.  Yikes!
