Al-Noor Indian Cuisine in Rancho Cordova

By
Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565

Last evening several of my family enjoyed a special dinner at Al-Noor Indian Restaurant in Rancho Cordova.  I have always had a special fondness for Indian food.  And, I often remind my family that I believe Indians are more civilized than we are!  My reason for these thoughts are based on the fact when I taste their food, I imagine hundreds, if not thousands of years of spices being specially chosen and blended while evolving their special curries, and exquisite exotic dishes.

We Americans have trampled around our relatively young country conjuring up little more than meat and potatoes with very little adventure, other than what we have pilfered occasionally from other cultures.

Selection of dishes chosen for us to devour last night included Vegetable Pakora,  Butter Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Biryani, Gobi Manchurian, Saag Paneer, and Garlic Naan. All, were special gifts to the palate!

Al-Noor Indian Restaurant is located at 3151 Zinfandel Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670.  There website with menu can be accessed via Al-Noor Indian Cuisine.

Rose Mary Justice - We really did.  We were there to celebrate my son's birthday.  It's been overcast and a bit dreary in Sacramento the last several days.  The warmth of the food brought happier spirits.

Sheila Anderson - You are such an adventurer with your travels that I would have suspected you would be fond of it.

Jeff Dowler, CRS - Al-Noor is a pleasant Indian restaurant.  They also have a lunch buffet that quite good!

Hi again Myrl. Just never appealed to me and I have allergies that bar me from most of it.

Sheila Anderson - Allergies can keep folks from a lot of things.  I'm one of those folks who can and will eat most anything.  However, I will only eat eggs scrambled, deviled or hard boiled.  And, I won't eat okra unless it's french fried!

That looks very delicious!  There is a really good Indian Buffet near where I live and a friend and I visit it at least once a month.

I love Indian food, Myrl... learned to love it in the Middle East when I lived there. I must say that most Indian restaurants in the USA don't make the food spicy enough for me. I'm always asking them to make it like for a native, but they never quite believe me!

Hi Myrl,

I do enjoy Indian food and I love your analysis of the development of it.  I'll have to keep that place in mind next time I'm on a stay-over in the Sacramento area.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - Clearly, I can understand why the Indian Culture is the spice of life!!! I love that we are evolving in our diet to incorporate more spices and less meat and potatoes.
