What are you doing for your clients this holiday?

The first thing I always give my clients is good service.  I am sure you do too.  Many of us also give little presents or cards to share with our client base for the holidays.

This year I decided to force bulbs.  It sounded like a great idea but I started to late.   They will be ready in mid January.  Mid winter gifts I guess.

This is what I want.my forced bulbs

Maybe I should talk to the greenhouse.

I am also sending out Emails to my clients.  I can do cards where I have the addresses.  It would remind them that I exist.

So what do you do for your clients at the holiday season?

This is the first year in 20 years I am not baking xmas cookies and delivering them to them.  Just mailing out 2020 Calendars

I send out cards and enclose a calendar. That's it.

I, for one, would not be pleased to receive anything plant-like. I keep no plants in my house and I don't garden and I know I'm not unique in this regard. I welcome fresh flowers but beyond that "no way."

Ultimately, it comes down to why we feel any need to give gifts to clients at Christmas time. My doctors and CPA and attorney don't send me gifts. I touch my clients and past clients, on average, at least three times per month throughout the year and really average some 42 touches. No reason to remind them I "exist" because it's Christmas. From a professional standpoint, I'd rather remind them I exist in January when I send them an analysis of sales in their neighborhood for the past year.

As for emails... that is the one thing I don't do -- touch my clients during the holidays with a holiday email. For me it's very impersonal. And if it's an important enough client or past client I have an address to which I can send a personalized Christmas or Hannuka card. I send an email greeting from Jacquie Lawson to just four past clients -- one lives in Switzerland, one in Italy, one in South Korea, and one in Colombia. None are returning to live in the USA but I like to send them holiday greetings.
