Beating back Doubt

Services for Real Estate Pros with John Henry Masterworks Design International, Inc. 13013

Doubt entered my mind the other day...

I wondered its meaning.  I knew what it felt like and did not like it want to face it...again.

My inner conscience thought it was a result of negligence, of being unprepared.

Here is the definition from Merriam-Webster:

1aa lack of confidence DISTRUSThas doubts about his abilities
ban inclination not to believe or accepta claim met with doubt
2auncertainty of belief or opinion that often interferes with decision-making
ba deliberate suspension of judgment
3a state of affairs giving rise to uncertainty, hesitation, or suspense

There are other similar definitions given, but I think what most of us think about is -- a distrust in our own abilities.  We are afraid that what we had hoped for will not come to pass.

Doubt kills the spirit.

Doubt is good for the conscience.  If we have doubt we realize that we can recognize the wheat from the chaff, that we are not fooling ourselves.

I realized that I was not getting as close to my goals as I had hoped.

I knew I had to do something.

A step in the right direction is important.  Especially if followed by further steps and a will to succeed.

Procrastination must be a sin... I will have to look it up.

You have to assess your abilities, figure your strengths and leverage them.
Take advantage of tools that will assist you to pull through, to get to the level you should be at.

Doubt should be used, not plastered over with a false sense of security.

Doubt is an itch that must not be just salved but destroyed completely.

Starting each day in doubt is not good, and neglecting the doubt is worse.

We move to other small projects when in doubt, when one knows exactly what needs to be done.

Doubt destroys your confidence and without it, you are left to flounder.

Build your confidence and you will erase doubt.

Being prepared and doing your best is a confidence builder.

Pushing things along keeps you in control.

Take the bull by the horns and push back with a plan, gain the knowledge and practice, develop a strategy, then follow through.

 Inhale confidence, exhale doubt

"Forget past mistakes and forget failures.  Forget everything except what you are going to do now and do it."  -- William J. Durant

there is so much more to write about this most important subject but I doubt I have time to research it completely.... I have been neglecting to deal with my doubt by writing this blog in the meanwhile...

I like this one. Encouraging that doubt in yourself will not help you move forward. I have come to appreciate that you learn more from failure than from not trying. Thanks for sharing!

I've always believed in myself.  In the worst situations I still believed in myself.  Pippi Longstocking taught me that in 3rd grade.
