"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward,
safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."
Central Market in Southlake, TX gave out coupons for Free Tulips without any expectations for store purchases. It made an impact on me because it is the anniversary of the day before my daughter was born and nobody at that store knows, except me. As a consumer, it filled my heart with joy and happiness. I looked at the color pink as I placed my Tulips in a vase at home and was reminded of that pink and white crocheted blanket my mother made for her. My daughter was the greatest gift I ever received. Whether or not my mom had a premonition or had a spare one in blue and white, I will never know. However, what I do know is that when you receive an unexpected gift it makes a difference in someones life.
It's not everyday a store gives away flowers for free, especially tulips in December. Princess Diana was very kind and spread joy, despite what went on behind closed doors. She was anything but ordinary, just like tulips in December! Also, she spent the remainder of her days giving back to people in countries who never would have had a chance to see someone so authentic without trying to be famous. There are lessons to be learned when you practice Random Acts of Kindness. What you give, you never know how it will impact the recipient unless they tell you. All I could do, was smile and say thank you. May joy be with you!
