The movie “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” is a tribute to the late beloved Fred Rogers. There is a real-life neighborhood in Westlake Village, California that Mr. Rogers could have inspired.
Could it be a coincidence that the builders of First Neighborhood, the American Hawaiian Steamship Company, navigated their boats through the Port of Pittsburgh before the inception of “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood”? Pittsburgh is where the children’s show was filmed.
First Neighborhood is nearly perfect in its homage to these qualities of Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood. It’s clean and has symmetry. The park, community pool and greenbelts that are centered within the neighborhood are frequented by people diverse in age, ethnicity and religious practice.
In First Neighborhood, the cul-de-sacs all funnel into grassy, tree-studded fields. There is a slower pace and an absence of traffic.
Since there is never a fence separating one front yard from another, there is a congenial feel of being among friends. It’s always a beautiful day in First Neighborhood.
This First Neighborhood home is in a good location within the planned development. It’s a light and bright popular floor plan. For more information or to schedule a time to see this home, call Stephanie Gavin of Nona Green & Associates, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. 818 292-8860
