Saturday Smiles: Conehead Cabbage @the Santa Barbara Farmers Market!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

One of our favorite cabbage varieties for coleslaw is Conehead cabbage pictured above on the right of the photo.  It has a mild and sweet taste!  This variety originated in Germany!

The colorful cauliflower varieties are in season once again. They each have their unique flavor.  The purple variety has a sweet nutty flavor.

There was no shortage of carrots here in the Saturday Santa Barbara Farmers Market.  Bugs Bunny would be delighted!

All varieties of lettuce are available year round at the Garden of Eden stand. We loved the addition of the green onions as a separator.

Here is a wider view of a corner of the market showing the plant vendor next to the vegetables!

Wishing you all an abundance of Saturday Smiles!

Sally K. & David L. Hanson we both agree that it is sweeter than regular cabbage, when we make coleslaw.  Other than sauerkraut, we like our cabbage raw.  Happy Weekend to both of you. A

Morning Alexandra.

I've seen those before, but down here they are all classified as, just cabbage.  Now, I know the real story, thanks

Ron and Alexandra Seigel , your photos captured everthing so well that I felt I was acturally at the Santa Barbaras Farmers Market beside you.  As Will Hamm commented,  'time for soup.'

Oh, everything looks wonderful! I saw some purple Brussels sprouts at the market on Saturday - your beautiful photo of the purple cauliflower reminded me of that.

I would love the nutty flavor too. Mashed cauliflower is my favorite substitution for mashed potatoes!
