Researching about storages, you would find that there are many types of storage units available in the market to choose from. They offer different convenience and comes at various prices. If you are confused between going for full service storage units or self-storage, then worry no more. In this article, we would talk about all the aspects of both the storages so that you can make a wise and informed decision.

Full-service storage

Full storage service companies, also known as valet storage or on-demand storage, pick-up, store and deliver your items whenever you need them according to your requirements. While some companies provide free pack-up of your belongings others charge a fee for it. You would also need to take part in the whole process and supervise it.
For example, you would need to see if the bigger items like furniture are covered in bubble wrap or not. Once the packaging is ready, you would need to schedule a pickup date for the items.

Upon reaching the site, the companies would feed in all the data along with photographs, so that they have a clear idea of all the items you have sent and on logging in to your account, you would also be able to see the items that are placed in the storage. The items would then be stored in warehouses, whose conditions depend from one company to another. In case you need any of your items, you would need to schedule the date and time of delivery. The cost of delivery or if it is free would vary from one company to another.

However, you would need to remember that along with all the convenience some of the companies take pick-up and delivery fees which can be hard on your pocket. Some companies also have a minimum period of storage for six months. So before finalizing the company, look into these things.

Self-storage

They are the storage that you are familiar with and are also known as drive-up access storage units. These are the traditional storage units which with time has been modified according to the needs of the customers. You would initially need to pick up the perfect size and style for your storage units.

You need to determine your budget and then look out for the feature that would accommodate it. Rentals for self-storage units come every month and you would not need to commit yourself to a long term contract. You might also have to pay for additional insurance costs. However, they do offer high security like 24/7 video surveillance and cut-proof locks so that all of your belongings are safe. When it comes to affordability, the prices are quite less compared to the on-demand storage units.

However, you would need to remember that the facilities provided by all the companies are not the same. You would need to go through all the features that they are offering to pick up the right unit for yourself.
