Carlsbad Village Holiday Window Display Contest

2019 Winners Announced

 

As they have for the last 4 years, the Carlsbad Village Association sponsored a contest for retailers in the Village and invited them to decorate their windows for the holidays. 35 merchants took up the challenge and participated.

 

Voting took place between November 30th and December 16th. Residents voted online for the People’s Choice Award, with 402 votes cast. The People's Choice winner was Handel’s Ice Cream.

 

Two other winners were selected: one by 2 City Council Members (Cory Schumacher and Priya Bhat-Patel), with the top nod to Carlsbad Village Music, and the second, the Kid's Favorite Choice, by the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad, awarding their prize to Dollhouse Boutique.

 

If you haven’t seen the winning windows, here’s a collage of photos from the Carlsbad Village Association website (click photo to read more about the contest on the CVA website). Winners were announced today on the CVA website and in their email newsletter.

No doubt these decorations create the same kind of memories I had as a child seeing the windows in downtown Milwaukee and the animated characters bringing the season to life !

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS - Thanks for sharing the results with us.  I read your initial post and was hoping you would announce the winners.  These are really great choices.  I remember being a young girl and making a trip to downtown Houston just to see the Xmas displays in the department store windows.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson  I remember seeing some amazing animated characters in windows in New York on more than one occasion, in Philadelphia as a kid, and one year in December in Paris - magical. Didn't see any in Carlsbad, though.
