This Week...Full of the Christmas Spirit

 

Can you believe that Christmas is in just a few days?  Since Thanksgiving, it has been non-stop!  

 

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. Calvin Coolidge

What I love about this time of year is how happy everyone is. It feels good to know that the joyful spirit of Christmas is alive and well.

And I don’t know if it’s something new for 2019 or the fact that I’m back in Texas, but people are freely saying Merry Christmas instead of tripping over their tongues trying to be politically correct.

Wish me Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Kwanzaa or whatever. I won’t mind. Because what I will hear is that you’re wishing me all the joys of the season.

Larry and I spent the week baking all kinds of cookies. We’ve taken some to friends and will take them to all of our holiday family dinners.  When I need something to get me in the holiday spirit, all I have to do is pull out all of my baking “gear” and start making Christmas cookies.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel we have taken "not offending" someone and being politically correct too far in my opinion. You can't offend me by wishing me joy or peace or love in any language or religious greeting. 

Will Hamm it is always sad to think of others who are suffering when we have so much.

Merry Christmas is rolling off my tongue everywhere I go and the reaction is surprise, followed by joy.  Will never forget the first year I worked in real estate.  The gal that owned the local subway was a first generation immigrant to the US.  She did not celebrate Christmas, yet I brought her Christmas cookies and wished her a Merry Christmas.  She shared with me, as I noticed my sandwiches getting more and more stuff when I ordered them, that the gesture I made had really made her feel "at home" here in the US.
