Twas the Night Before a Showing...Once Again... 2019
This was something I began on a whim back in 2010 and have tried to tweak it each year. (however, I must have been MIA in 2017) Just pretend that James Earl Jones is reading the poem or maybe Sir Anthony Hopkins!
Twas the Night Before a Showing
When all through the house,
Not a Creature was stirring,
Not even a mouse.
All the boxes and paint cans could be seen everywhere
But in just a few hours, the Buyers soon would be there.
The Children with Oculus Quest planted firmly on their heads
Had visions of their new home dancing round in their heads.
Not so with their parents who were beginning to wonder
Had they just made a serious Home Staging blunder?
When out in the driveway there arose such a clatter,
They looked out their dirty windows to see what was the matter.
Tripping over the clutter, hurrying past the paint cans,
They raced out the door….down the sidewalk they ran.
The moonlight shone brightly all over their yard
But the grass was so high, seeing anything was hard.
When what to their wondering eyes should appear
But Room Service! Home Staging. "I’m here, have no fear!"
Just a little Ladystager, slightly older but quick,
“Let’s get this house moving! Get that broom...make it quick.”
More rapid than arrows her orders came out,
As she gestured and shouted so there would be no doubt:
Come Swiffer and dust rag! Put extras away!
Clean the counters and bedrooms...it’s the Roomba, make way!
To the Top of the Porch
To the Top of the Wall
Now Dirt Away, Clutter Away,
Get rid of it all!!!
Wishing you a Safe, Joyful, Love-filled and Merry Christmas.
