We All Do The Same Thing But In 2020 You'd Better Be Creative With It

Services for Real Estate Pros with RE/MAX Executive Realty 104763

In less than a week, we will be ringing in the New Year. 2020 will be as good a year as we make it, and I’m a firm believer that we create our own destiny.

As far as I’m concerned, The Todaro Team is destined to continue to move forward.  Not only will we move forward, we will move “onward and upward.”  That’s a three word phrase that I’ve used for decades.

When there is no action, we must make our own. Those trees continue to have growth and bear fruit. In a market that has slowed, it’s up to us to “shake that fruit” from the trees. We know it’s there. It’s up to us to find it!!

I’ve never been one to participate in New Year’s Resolutions. When there’s something to be done, I get it done.  A new path is created that does not wander too far from that of 2019.  Methods are adjusted just enough to create a phone call or two.

The result is we continue to create business. One new listing will draw many new leads. Every listing is an invitation to potential buyers to continue to search for that ideal property.  It will surface, but until it does, it’s every real estate agent’s job to close another potential client on becoming YOUR client.

We close. We close potential buyers and sellers.  Closing is what every real estate agent must be well versed at executing. Carrying out that task successfully will make or break you in a challenging market.  To this day, I practice closing consistently. It doesn’t matter what the topic may be, it’s important to learn to mirror and show mastery, whenever the opportunity arises. It takes practice to control a situation without the other party realizing he/she/they are being controlled.

Remaining silent and listening is the first skill to be developed. Practice it wherever you may be and you recognize the opportunity to participate. It does not need to be a real estate conversation.

Are you ready for 2020? Do you know what that first marketing program will be? Will you be prepared to add another “old school” marketing task to your daily tasks? Is your listing presentation powerful enough to close a listing in an extreme sellers’ market, with 5 or 6 agents hammering away at that “unsuspecting soul" known as the future seller?”

Hammering should be left to framers! Real estate agents must be well-versed with marketing skills and have the stats and testimonials that prove that status.

Just a few thoughts in preparation for 2020 and a new vision…..creativity, imagination and ability to close the client because of those factors.

You must be unique in executing “the same tasks” as others.  The same tasks that everyone executes but with a different twist and flavor!!

Think about it….that’s where my thoughts are going into 2020…. Well beyond “just a thought for the moment!”

I love this post, Barbara and am with you 100%. On being original - to those of us who do the 'creating,' it's so obvious when others take our ideas but, in the past, it hasn't been obvious to everyone. That seems to be changing and I love that it is raising the bar for the 'copy cats!'

I agree with so much of what you say here.

One of the most important skills in life and sales is learning to be quiet and LISTEN  If you don't listen you cant learn what is important to the people you work for or live with  Its so important, yet so many people don't listen

2020 is going to be a great year! Cheers!
