Is anyone else scared of getting tied up in another blog? there are only so many hours in the day, and we can not forget the basics, out in public face to face with the client when ever possible should be the main focus. Technology is great, but not a substitute for meeting a client
Great list, I couldn´t agree more on the top ten (though Im kind of surprised with TruliaBlog not entering the top five ). I am a regular reader of most of the top 15, and , It is great to see that not only the big names are part of the list. Just this morning I was listening to mitch´s Six Pixels Of Separation podcast, where he says that it is good to see how the new internet allows small companies to compete with the big ones by taking advantage of the web 2.0 revolution. kudos to all, and congrats to Ines from miamism.com!
Realestateshows.com should not be at the top of the list because their blog get a small percentage of their domains traffic. Their tours make it number one.

Jon - Thanks for the list. There are a lot of interesting blogs here to check out.
Thanks for adding us Jon!
It seems we have some work to do :)

Jonathon, Dustin is correct. We should not be considered for this list. First, because we don't even attempt to focus our blog on anyone other than our clients. And second, for the very reason Dustin indicates. Our blog gets an even smaller percentage of our daily traffic than Dustin said that Alexa indicates. But that's really the problem, Alexa hasn't a clue. By including us on this list you're truly comparing apples to oranges.
That said, I feel compelled to point out that it's hard to make an argument that any of these numbers are even close to being accurate. I can only use our actual numbers as a measure and Compete's numbers come "closer" to our actual traffic numbers than Alexa, but that's a relative statement. They're closer and they are still off, on the low side, by percentages that would choke a horse. It's not even close.
Jonathon, I'm at a loss for why anyone continues to use these systems to make judgements about anything. Alexa is, for lack of a better way of putting it, completely worthless. I've written about this before. It's undeniable. And if Compete's numbers are as bad as they are for a site that gets as much traffic as ours does, I can't imagine how far off they are for everyone else. The less traffic you get, the further off their estimates are. It's just that simple.
In addition, the Quantcast "Panel Estimate" shown for Real Estate Shows in Dustin's graph is off by very, very large percentages on the low side as well. It may be accurate for those it directly measures, but the panel estimates are not even in the right ballpark for us. Again, it's comparing apples to oranges. So, this list may be fun to look at, but it's not possible for it to be accurate. Even in relative terms.
So, Rudy, I'm pretty sure we don't really know how much work you have to do. :)
You're right Jeff, Alexa, is far from accurate and compete is closer, but still no cigar. And, I don't expect them to be. They are just starting points to give you a ballpark idea when comparing fruits and vegtables :)

Jonathan, regardless of the controversy over the accuracy of the various ranking systems, I still think the list is impressive. Also, #53 and #54 are both Jonathan Dalton...he did a URL change recently to #54. Thanks again for including me.
Steve, there's no controversy over the accuracy of the various ranking systems. They're not accurate. And it doesn't really matter. Their inaccuracy doesn't mean the list won't be fun to watch.
Awesome!

Thanks for the mention, Bob! Just two more, to crack the top 50... if only I knew how to make that happen!
Several commentors asked if this was a list of all real estate blogs. It's not even close. I have almost 300 real estate related blogs in my feed reader (all "outside" blogs). And there are hundreds and hundreds more.
I have to agree with the great Jeff Turner's take on the Alexa and Compete rankings. They aren't even cloe to right for my blog. I doubt they are close for anything. If they are off teh same amount for everyone, then the rankings would still be close, but I suspect they are ALL OVER the place.
None the less, it's a fun list to watch, and it's helped me find some new blogs to read. I can't believe Jon goes through the pain of updating this thing monthly!
We're all competitive, and it's great to see your blog on the list (and it bummed me out to drop from #10 to #13), but traffic isn't everything! It's the *kind* of traffic you get that really matters, and what you do with it.
Heck, if I just got 10 visitors a month, but they all bought or sold a home, I'd be writing this comment from the Bahamas!
I am surprised that 3 Ocean didn't make the list but other less known blogs did.
And ahem, (my ego is talking here) I know I only talk about staging but I still rank higher on alexa on the last few blogs on the list ;) But Jeff is right, lists are silly, our work matter more :)
Cheers,
Cindy
Johnathan - Really nice list with a lot of familiar names of course. It would be great to know which of these blogs are "do follow".
I will be bookmarking this page and will make an effort to go thru and read each and every one thanks.
