Tis the season for shell ginger flowers on Maui
These lovely plants like to show off their beautiful blooms at this time of year, in the Hawaiian Islands. Shell ginger, like others in the ginger family, do well in a warm tropical garden, so you know they love to thrive in Haiku. No irrigation needed if you plant them in a suitable spot.
It's a tallish plant and these were at eye level, making it easy to admire them.
I snapped this pic while touring some Maui homes for sale last week. This flower was seen at Maluaina Place, a quiet street in Peahi, a part of Haiku. See some other new north shore Maui listings and learn more by clicking this link.
